Dr. Shreyas Kumar :: AGGIES Lab – AI for Government, Grid, Infrastructure, and Engineering Security
Dr. Shreyas Kumar will share the mission of his lab and how it helps establish Texas A&M University and the Great State of Texas as national leaders in AI-driven security across government, critical infrastructure, and engineered systems.
AGGIES Lab, or AI for Government, Grid, Infrastructure, & Engineering Security, exists to promote cybersecurity and safety in a world of rapidly evolving AI technologies. Through state of the art research and industry leading projects, we focus on developing solutions that can transform digital security within fields such as computation and data sciences, social sciences, medical applications, and the humanities. At AGGIES, global challenges are met with technical and academic prowess to provide novel, high-impact results.

Dr. Shreyas Kumar, AGGIES Lab founder and director, is a Professor of Practice in Computer Science & Engineering at Texas A&M University, specializing in Cybersecurity, AI, and Risk Management. With 22 years of industry experience, he’s held leadership roles at Uber, Adobe, and Oracle. His research focuses on cyber warfare, AI-driven security, and cyber insurance. Dr. Kumar is also a Certified Information Systems Security Professional and serves on various boards, including the U.S. National Committee Technical Advisory Group for IEC/ISO Joint Technical Committee on Quantum Technologies

Avik Khadayat :: AggieX – A student-founded nonprofit accelerator at Texas A&M University
Avik will share the story of AggieX, how it got started, what it’s accomplished so far and where the directors plan to take it in the coming years.
AggieX is a student-founded nonprofit accelerator at Texas A&M focused on helping Aggies launch and scale their own ventures. AggieX is building a community that connects the existing programs/organizations within the A&M network to fuel collaboration and provide students with unparalleled access to resources, mentorship, and real startup support.
Avik Khadayat is the Co-Founder of AggieX, a student-led startup incubator & accelerator at Texas A&M University focused on helping founders turn ideas into scalable ventures. With a strong interest in entrepreneurship, venture building, and emerging technology, Avik works at the intersection of engineering and business to create systems that empower student founders. Through AggieX, he is building a platform that connects talent, mentorship, and execution to accelerate innovation within the TAMU ecosystem.
