We marked our first public event at Ice House on Main with a live concert by Trout Fishing in American benefiting Voices for Children, CASA of Brazos Valley. The evening was intimate and casual as children enjoyed the kids area and parents took in the lyrical musings of four-time Grammy nominees Ezra Imlet and Keith Grimwold. The duo has been writing and touring for more than 40 years and are old favorites of the Brazos Valley. Another local favorite, Keeton Coffman opened the evening with an acoustic set.
The evening was made possible by the generous support from sponsors, including The Eagle, INSITE Magazine, Knowledge Based Systems, Inc. (KBSI), Rx Pizza, Mark Maltsberger, Attorney at Law, and Advent GX. Voices for Children Executive Director AJ Reynold offered remarks and shared a video about the role of CASA Volunteers between musical sets and then let the Trouts loose on stage to encourage some lighthearted fun for all. This is the fourth year Advent GX has partnered with Voices for Children to produce a benefit concert and the third year the concert has featured Trout Fishing in America. Loyal to both the cause and the performers, the crowd is already talking about next years show.
