Advent GX will celebrate the kick-off of redevelopment of the Ice House on Main with a Community Photo Day on October 2, 2015 during the 10th Anniversary Celebration of First Fridays in Historic Downtown Bryan. The community is invited to join the Advent GX team at the Ice House for a community photo and individual photos at 6:30 p.m. Photographers will be on hand to help capture the event.
The Ice House on Main Photo Day was inspired by the community’s affinity for the historic building and it’s popularity as a backdrop for photos documenting special occasions.
“The Ice House on Main is a landmark downtown and naturally we are drawn to its historic charm,” explains Advent GX Director of Communications Joan Quintana. “So many people take special photos there that mark personal milestones. It seems appropriate to have a community photo day to capture this occasion as we mark the beginning of redevelopment.”
The Ice House was first established in 1912 as the Bryan Ice Company and was one of the most extensive and complete plants of its time. In an effort to revitalize Downtown Bryan, Advent GX will be redeveloping this historic building to preserve its heritage, while giving it new life. The project will serve as an anchor and catalyst for development of the north end of Bryan’s historic downtown district.
